Choosing Sage Scapes to meet your landscape and irrigation needs is a wise choice.  You know why?

Because while the average person looks at a sprinkler system and basically sees Chinese, we see poetry (but not Shakespeare nobody gets that stuff).

The prospect of buying a tiny-hole-puncher and punching thousands of tiny holes in your lawn might sound strenuous.  Here at Sage Scapes we find ourselves aerating random things in our spare time just for fun!

And don't even get us started on mowing lawn. Literally, be careful what you say around us, because we'll talk lawn mowing until the lawn actually needs mowing.  That's how passionate we are about what we do.

Don't believe us?  Think all this talk is just hyperbole to separate us from the eight-and-a-half other landscaping companies you've come in contact with? Well, maybe..  But where there's smoke there's a fire. And we genuinely do believe we're the most passionate and hardest working landscape and irrigation service in Central Oregon.

Expert Landscaping and Irrigation
It's common knowledge that a homes value can be increased or decreased significantly by it's landscaping and irrigation.  Sure, if the land and/or home are valuable enough on their own their worth can still be exceptional.  But the truth remains that a homes value can be enhanced or depreciated by the situation of it's yards and walkways (or lack thereof).

Whether you're selling your home or just want to invest meaningfully into it don't just choose any ol' landscaping company.  Choose a company with experience, passion and integrity.  And I'm not even saying to automatically choose Sage Scapes!

We're confident in our track record of quality work, customer satisfaction, affordability, and believe we're among the most elite landscaping and irrigation services in Central Oregon.

The staff of Sage Scapes has been repairing and enhancing yards, lawns, paths, patios and more for over 25 years.  When you do the same things right over and over and over you get more than just results.  You get a culture.  A culture of excellence, hustle and pride.

Trust Sage Scapes with your goals, with your problems and with your home.  Trust that we can handle any issue with ease and confidence.  Know that we will get more beauty and value out of your front and/or backyard than any other company in town.  And that we'll do so at a competitive price, to your satisfaction.

Enhance Your Landscape
Compost: Assuming your bushes, hedges and plants are pruned and there is already a general orderliness to your yard, adding compost can be a simple step to take your yard to the next level.  The uniform, deep color of the compost provides and beautiful contrast to the greens and reds and purples of your yard.  Unlike other materials like wood mulch or straw, compost will actually increase the health of your garden.  But not all compost is created equal!  Be sure to research what exactly is in your compost or ask us to help.  Often times compost from local garden center is just old dirt, partially decomposed wood chips or someone else's manure.  Ask us if you're uncertain what's in your compost or where to get some!

Plant and Tree Design: While plant and tree design certainly has many aesthetic benefits for your home and garden, such as drawing attention to a certain part of the yard, maybe away from another part of the yard, framing the landscape or even being the feature of a landscape, tree and plant design can also have many environmental benefits.  Trees can be strategically placed to help heat your home in the winter or cool it in the summer.  Trees and plants can help tremendously with noise abatement, something we can almost certainly always have more of! Trees and plants can also help with the reduction of carbon dioxide in your area, operate as filters of air pollutants and help with storm water runoff. The USDA Forest Service found that for every dollar a city invests in its community tree program large trees returned $1.92 in environmental benefits, while medium trees returned $1.36 and small trees returned $1.00!

Gravel and Rock:  The addition of gravel and/or rock to your yard can have a plethora of benefits.  Gravel and rock can be very tastefully used around walkways and certain plants and bushes.  They add feeling of cleanliness that can be a very nice touch to your garden or yard.  Gravel and rock also are wonderful because they help cut down on water usage without feeling like you're wasting space.  Dead grass or dirt are very unappealing and aren't well covered up by lawn ornaments or things of that nature!  Gravel and rock are the perfect answer to conserving water while making an aesthetically pleasing use of space.

Looking to make improvements to your back or front yard but don't want to go in to debt to pull it off?  Some simple hardscape ideas might be just what you need.  A fireplace is a beautiful touch to any yard.  We can help you create a fire pit and lounging area that fits both your needs and your budget.  A tasteful, functional and inexpensive fire pit can be made out of some simple retaining wall blocks from your local store.  If stacked correctly you can have your fire pit constructed for under $100 without even using mortar!  Of course you can spend thousands of dollars on a project like this if you're ready for it.  Just know that little hardscape touches like this in your backyard can be done on a budget and greatly improve the aesthetic and functionality of your yard space.

Tree Care and Removal: Of course Central Oregon is known for it's beautiful trees, including ash and pine.  Unfortunately our beautiful trees which enhance our home or business landscape, provide shade in the summer and even help dampen noise from the street (or neighbor) can also become quite the handful.  You may have a tree that desperately needs some trimming.  Untrimmed trees can interfere with telephone wiring, walkways and even threaten the safety of your own home.  They're even a hazard to themselves.  Overgrown trees don't allow for wind to flow through the leaves and branches which puts them at higher risk of being pulled over during a storm. When trees are untrimmed it also makes it much harder for adequate light and air to reach the inner layers of the tree.  In these situations what we call a Crown Reduction is called for.  This is a particular type of trimming that removes up to a third of the trees leaves and branches.  This type of trim is most common with pine trees and/or trees close to buildings.  While you may feel quite confident with a pair of shears in your hands consider the option that this job is a little out of your league!  Choose Sage Scapes to serve you.  We know our way not just around a pair of shears but really fun toys like chainsaws and pole tree pruners longer than you are tall.  Save yourself lots of time and money by hiring the professionals at Sage Scapes to trim your tree to a more functional and efficient state.

Maybe your trees roots are causing you problems.  Serious ones.  Silver Maple is a beautiful but worrisome tree to have around your home or business.  Their roots are large and aggressive and notorious for upsetting sidewalks, piping and even driveways.  Quaking Aspens are similarly known for their aggressive roots with the added headache of fierce multiplication.  Typical Aspens will have dozens of baby Aspens sprouting all around it in no time.  Not so fun, unless you're repopulating a forest in your own yard.  Or maybe you have a beautiful Willow tree but its leaves are literally everywhere!  While mesmerizing and quite unique Willow trees are certainly high maintenance.  Thankfully Sage Scapes is here to quickly and efficiently clean up those leaves year-round (not to mention the fall).  Whether it's leaf clean up, root removal, stump removal or the entire tree needs to go Sage Scapes will have the job done to the satisfaction of you and your wallet.

Investing in your home's landscaping can be one of the greatest investments in your home you can make.  Of course new bathrooms and floors are wonderful options if you have the money to do so.  But landscaping tends to fall on the wayside in the minds of home owners looking to increase the worth of their property.

In the event that you want to sell your home an easy and effective way to help attract buyers is to improve your home's landscaping.  It's the first thing your buyers will experience when they visit your property. You want them to know your home is valuable to you and that you've taken care of it over theyears.  Healthy landscaping can be a direct, immediate message to them that your home is valuable and help them trust that the interior has been cared for with the same passion and love.

On the flip side, when looking to purchase a home don't overlook the state of its landscaping.  Buying a home might be the largest financial decision of your life.  You want to find every reason why you should or should not purchase a home and will be looking for solid reasons for or against.  A house's  landscaping will often be indicative of how much care the previous owners gave to it.

Professional Landscaping
When considering the beauty, health, longevity and cost of your landscaping choose a professional service that will save you money and headaches.

Commonly home owners add up the cost of doing their landscaping themselves and are intrigued.  A ride along lawn morrow will run you around $1,500 give or take, a leaf blower about $150 and the same for a weed whacker.  These aren't exact figures of course but are reasonable ballpark numbers you can expect to see at the store.  Add it all up and the upfront cost to deal with your landscaping needs is a little under a couple of thousand dollars. Compared with the indefinite monthly or weekly cost of hiring a professional landscaping company and the couple thousand dollars actually becomes quite appealing.

Like most things in life this decision isn't as simple as it seems.  Typically neglected in the factoring and comparing of cost is the maintenance you will need to perform on all that shiny equipment.  They're mostly all gas powered of course.  Gas costs money, if you didn't know.  Your fancy mower will need an oil change and tune up at least once per year.  Your weed eater will need its blades sharpened every now and then.  You'll need to pay someone to do that, about $75.  Of course all the equipment you've purchased is at risk of breaking and failing every  time you use it.  When they inevitably breakdown you'll need to cover the cost to repair or even replace them altogether.

We haven't even talked about time yet.  Part of the wonder of hiring a professional landscape company like Sage Scapes is that they're at your home at the time you've scheduled and will be there every time barring natural disaster or the apocalypse.  You won't always have the Saturday to give to your yard or garden nor will you always want to spend your weekend in the sun, covered in grass bits, dirt and grease.  You may of course take enjoyment and fulfillment in the process of caring for your home or business's landscape.  If that's the case you may want to consider working part or full-time with us!  We're growing and can always use more enthusiastic members on our team.

If you don't see yourself smiling every Saturday or once a month as you spend hours in your yard regardless of weather, then maybe hiring a professional landscape service like Sage Scapes to serve you is smart.  We promise we'll treat the landscape of your home or business as if it were our own and will do every job to your satisfaction, every time.
